There are a number of cleaning solutions and products to use to keep records in tip top condition, ranging from expensive ultrasonic and vacuum record cleaning machines to isopropyl alcohol based cleaning fluids. At Simply Vinyl Records, we follow some simple, easy steps, which you can do, to keep your records looking and sounding great.
Follow this steps to keep your records clean
Handle records on the edges and avoid touching the playing surface.
Use a dry carbon fibre brush to wipe off surface dust and debris prior to playing records.
Use an over the counter record cleaning solution fluid and a microfibre cloth to clean the records in the direction of the grooves.
Remember to clean and wipe your records prior to playing and after use - this ensures they are clean when being stored
