How should I store my record collection?

Updated: Oct 16

A common question we get asked by clients and customers is 'What is the best way to store my record collection?'

Follow these tips to keep your record collection in tip top condition:

  • Store records in a vertical and upright position and avoid laying them flat.

  • Use appropriate storage boxes or shelving.

  • Avoid compressing the records together too tightly when stored.

  • Avoid direct sunlight, heat and dampness to prevent them from fading, warping and mould.

  • Use a well ventilated area with good are flow to prevent moisture build up.

Taking these steps gives the best chance to keep your record in a good condition and enjoy the music for years to come.

But wherever they are stored, ensure your vinyl records are accessible and able to be played, listened to and enjoyed! That after all is what they are made for!
